Well, it's not very far outside the bubble, but there's not a Disney restaurant in sight. There's a great selection of fun restaurants in this cute little town and it's well worth the trip just to try something different.

Celebration's very own 'Cheers' and it's even run by people from Boston. The biggest bar with the most beers (99). There's a formal-ish sit down area, a cozy bar area and tons of outside seating. Good food, especially the fish dishes.

Fantastic Cuban/Spanish restaurant. Very pretty with an excellent bar, inside and outside seating and a very good Spanish wine list. Try the 1905 Salad. Music on weekends at the bar.

British owned and operated tea room with really delicious desserts and light meals. Small inside seating are with lots of outside seating. Always lively on weekends when there's live music

Great 1950's diner with booths and a long counter with spinning stools. Bright and cheerful with very good comfort food. If you crave meatloaf, this is the place.

This up-scale Italian restaurant has a great location in the heart of downtown Celebration. In addition to traditional and creative Italian dishes they have a wood fired oven that cranks out yummy pizzas. If the weather's nice, it's great to sit outdoors and watch all of the activity around the lake. 691 Front Street, Celebration. 407-566-2233

If you like ice cream and freshly made fudge, peanut brittle and other fattening treats, it doesn't get any better than this. The place smells so good, you'll put a pound on just walking in the door. It ain't cheap, but if you're going to be bad...

Head out I-4 East toward Orlando and turn left on Sand Lake Road (away from International Drive). After about half a mile, you'll see restaurants and bars on both sides of the road. This is where the locals go and there is quite a variety of excellent restaurants in all price ranges.

It's definitely a bit of a drive from the attractions, but it's like Downtown Disney without the tourists. There's an explosion of condos in downtown Orlando and the restaurants and bars are in hot pursuit of the growing crowds.

Ok, so it's not around the corner...you get on the I-4 and head east....PAST Orlando and turn right onto Fairbanks Avenue At first it looks a bit questionable but if you turn onto Orlando Avenue or, even better, go down to Park Avenue you'll find some really enjoyable restaurants in extremely pleasant surroundings.

Ok, you can call it I-Drive. Out I-4 East past Sea World, there are several exits (Sand Lake and Kirkman). Turn right and you'll run into an incredible tourist zone...but among all of the not-quite Disney attractions, there are some really interesting places to eat

No, you don't have to wear a tutu or do the tango, but you WILL be entertained and the food is good, too
