As many seem to pack crock pots and other small kitchen appliances in their lockers, I figured this would be a good place as any to ask it. (John, if this belongs somewhere else, let me know.)

I have contemplated putting together a website in a searchable format where site members/contributors would submit their favorite recipes which are easily made. (Remember the days of cookbooks by contribution?) So.. I have a few questions:

Would this concept be welcomed and/or used?
Would it be preferred if it were by subscription (small fee to access) or Free (advertisement based)?
How best to organize the submitted recipes to make it easy to browse?
Should there be a rating system for each recipe?

I thought this concept would be great since so many DVC members somewhat use the facilities, the free easy access to wireless Internet now, and the proliferation of tablets and other computing devices at hand.

I look forward to hearing all your comments and suggestions.:)

If you set up an account at Food.com, you can create "cookbooks" which are publicly accessible. Members can post their recipes, then the cookbook coordinator can link the recipes into the electronic cookbook. It's a free service. I use it all the time; I have over 1300 recipes posted there myself (not all mine; lots of things I've transcribed the way I used to copy them onto index cards, back in the day...).

Hi John,

Right now...I think I will begin putting together my notes and use the site for myself and then get people's opinions.
