A Carved Wood Panel At Disney's Polynesian Resort: the Everyday Adventures Of the Purple Van January 13, 2010

If you were familiar with Disney's Polynesian Resort, and I asked you where I would find a seven by eight foot carved wooden panel in the lobby (with a face sticking its tongue out no less!), I'll bet you would say that I must be mistaken...

But you'd be wrong...and here it is:

The lobby at the Polynesian is dominated by waterfalls and lush plants along with the check in area and shops.

But it also has some beautiful artifacts from the South Pacific...like this panel. Look closely...can you see the face?
I wish I could tell you more about its origin but I haven't been able to dig anything up yet...maybe you can help?

Oh, and if you'd like to see this panel in person, it's on the ground floor of the lobby right next to the elevator. And, if you're like me and never use the elevator, it's on the right hand side of the lobby...
