This is no ordinary box of rocks. It's a display detailing the different types of rocks and minerals found in the Grand Canyon.
The huge fireplace in the lobby of Disney's Wilderness Lodge...the base of which you can see in the background...goes from the floor of the lobby up over 60 feet to the roof.
Disney's imagineers have crafted the fireplace to simulate the layers of rock that you would see in the Grand Canyon and the rocks in this display case provide more detail.
You can see a diagram of the fireplace on the left side of the case.
The fireplace itself is rather hard to miss...it's in the left rear of the lobby as you walk in. This display case is just to the right...
