Family Album At Disney's Old Key West Resort: The Everyday Adventures Of the Purple Van January 16, 2010
Maybe it's because there's a picture of three of my daughters taken in 1994 up there, but I just love these photos of Disney Vacation Club families at Disney's Old Key West Resort.
When DVC first started in the early 1990's, what's now called Old Key West was the only Disney Vacation Club Resort. And to say that it was homey is an understatement. All you had to do to get you picture on the wall was to mail one in and they'd frame it and add it to the collection. It was fun to enjoy looking at all of the photos while eating at Olivia's.
That was then. Now DVC is much bigger an they're not adding any more photos. In fact, they took a lot down a few years ago when they repainted the walls. A shame.
These photos are in the lobby area just outside the entrance to Olivia's...

At the Gurgling Suitcase there used to be thousands of business cards all over the walls or anyplace you could stick them. They still have the books with all the cards in them when the took them down for painting.
