The Infamous Gurgling Suitcase At Disney's Old Key West Resort The Everyday Adventures Of The Purple Van July 11, 2009
What is the deal with The Gurgling Suitcase? Why is it that this tiny bar is so popular with Disney Vacation Club members?
It's certainly not the biggest or prettiest bar in Walt Disney World. And I'm willing to bet that if you looked up "hole in the wall" in the dictionary, there would be a picture of the Gurgling Suitcase.
Most Disney resorts have a fantastically themed bar around the pool and "afterthought" is certainly the word that comes to mind here.
But it's one hopping little joint and it seems to be a must stop for fans of Old Key West.
I can say that in the old days, when this was the only Disney Vacation Club resort, it was a great place to see old friends. If you used DVC points at the same time of the year, the chances were good that you'd run into the same folks you saw last year. And the "Suitcase" is known to have bartenders that stay a long time and tend to remember names and faces.
So now, I thinks it's become a place to stop by before or after dinner and just see who you might run into. I alway catch myself slowing down when I walk past to see if there's anyone I know. Check it out

This is one of my favorite places to sit and relax when I stay at home in Old Key West.
