The Back Door of Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Villas: The Everyday Adventures Of The Purple Van July 16, 2009
Like Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Villas sits atop a hill. Well, it looks like it sits at the top of a hill. You certainly drive up an incline to get to the lobby. But all three of these resorts are built with the lobby on the second floor. Lots of dirt and landscaping just make it look like a hilltop.
But this "hill" doesn't exist in the back which means we have this fantastic view of Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Villas from the rear.
This "lower level" of Boardwalk is extensive with restaurants like Flying Fish all the way down to ESPN on the left and shops and restaurant all the way down to Jellyrolls on the right.
Up above, the roofline is loaded with interesting signs, lights and architectural elements. I think all of this tends to take your eye away from the view of the back of Boardwalk you see here. The huge lawn, the staircases and the balcony off the lobby are highlights of the Boardwalk resort that shouldn't be missed.
