Pop Idol Is In; So what's out? The Everyday Adventures Of the Purple Van July 4, 2009
This is the "rear" entrance to Disney's Hollywood Studios from World Drive. If you always stay in Disney resorts, the Disney tranpsport busses don't use this entrance and, in fact you may never have seen it. You may well have been on the road on the overpass that has the Hollywood Studios sign on it, though.
So what's up with these giant film strips?They've been there for quite some time and they had gotten quite faded from the direct afternoon sun. Particularly the panel for the Extrene Stunt Show on the far left and the Indiana Jones one.
Last week, Disney began replacing the film strips. The Stunt Show panel has been redone and now there's a panel for Pop Idol. Indiana Jones still looks tired and faded.
So what did Pop Idol replace?
As often as I drive by this entrance in the purple van (at least once a day), I can't for the life of me remember what it was...any clues?

Took a while to find it, but it looks like it used to be Beauty and the Beast.

Randy, you're the best. I've looked everywhere for a photo. I think that the fact there are so very very few photos of that sign says something. Thanks again for the detective work. You can really see how faded the stunt show panel had become.
