Mardi Gras Parade At Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort: The Everyday Adventures Of The Purple Van July 28, 2009

If the quality of a resort is determined by its theming, then Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter must be rated A++++!

I honestly don't think any resort at Walt Disney World is themed any better than French Quarter. Yes, I know it's a "moderate" resort but I think someone must have told the imagineers that it was a "deluxe" by the looks of it.

This huge, colorful Mardi Gras Parade statue guards the entrance to Doubloon Lagoon, the resort's extremely creative pool. You can get a feel for just how big this sculpture is by looking at the relative size of the people and umbrellas.

To get to the pool, walk straight through the lobby and you'll run right into it. But, take your time, you don't want to miss any of the surprises along the way.
