Jambo House Staircase: The Everyday Adventures Of The Purple Van July 17, 2009

So just how pretty can a staircase be?

I think the short answer is, not much prettier than this!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House is the last of the deluxe (non-DVC) Disney resorts and sometimes I think the Imagineers pulled out all of the stops on this one. This staircase leads from the lobby down to restaurants Boma and Jiko, stopping at a fantastic bar, Victoria Falls, along the way. Isn't it magnificent!

So often, we're in a hurry to get someplace and think of a staircase as just a way for getting from point A to point B. But the next time you're in Jambo House, walk down these steps and then find a seat at the bottom of the stairs, turn around and just spend a few minutes staring. I'll often do just that after dropping off Lockers. Layer after layer after layer of detail. Who would have thought something like a flight of stairs could be this much fun?
