Is This A Disney Resort? The Everyday Adventures Of The Purple Van July 8, 2009
Well, it looks like it might be the Contemporary, Polynesian or perhaps the Grand Floridian. But it's none of those. I was delivering a Locker to the Gaylord Palms Resort this morning when I looked to my left as I came out of the lobby and saw my favorite palm, a traveler's palm.
It's the perfectly proportioned tree at the end of this sidewalk. You don't see them very often and this is one of the nicest specimen's I've seen.
It's very easy to think that Disney has captured the market on attractive resorts in Orlando but the Gaylord Palms is an excellent example of great quality in a non-Disney Resort. It's right across the I-4 from Pop Century and it's worth a trip for a drink or meal just to see the place. Or, if you're lucky enough to be a purple van driver, you get to check stuff like this out every day.
