How About A Carriage Ride At Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort? The Everyday Adventures Of The Purple Van July 21, 2009

I don't know about you, but a couple of thoughts run through my mind when I see these carriages: how relaxing; and geez, these people think of EVERYTHING!

The more I wander around Disney property (as purple van drivers are wont to do) the more amazed I am every day at the little things that Disney does to make Walt Disney World Special.

It seems like everywhere you turn, there are details that don't have to be there and little surprises like this. I know, the carriage rides aren't free but they create the atmosphere whether you ride in one or not and just add immensely to everyone's enjoyment.

Try to stop by Port Orleans Riverside on your next visit to Disney World. It is well worth the trip!

Port Orleans Riverside is my "home" I love it there!

I am hoping to stop by Port Orleans on our trip in October one early early Sunday morning with my 2 year old little guy and do some fishing. Disney certainly gives you options to do everything possible. Love the picture John!

I have taken a carriage ride with my wife during our honeymoon stay. They are quite relaxing and allow you to bring your own snacks and drinks. They are worth the price especially as a change of pace from hustle and bustle of the parks.

I don't blame you for calling Riverside "home.".
john. I thinks it's gorgeous. As the landscaping matures, I think it just gets better and better

Thanks for the kind words, Amanda. I think you'll love Riverside and I hope you and your son have a great fishin' trip!

Thanks for the scoop on taking snacks and drinks, Doug. I've got to tell you that I didn't even know that these carriage rides existed until I walked by them today. Now I want to get my wife and go for a ride. Sounds like we should bring a glass of wine!

We're back there in exactly four weeks today - can't wait! So you'll be needing to pay another vist to POR to drop off our locker, John. :)

For more info on the carriage rides, my website might help: http://www.portorleans.org/recreation.php#Carriage

Hey Andre,
Thanks so much for sharing the link to your website...it's fantastic! Lots of great information about French Quarter and Riverside.

No probs, glad people are finding the site informative. I can't wait to be back at POR for another "research trip" :) (as Lou would say)
