Ahhhh, Stormalong Bay at Disney's Beach and Yacht Club Resorts: The Everyday Adventures Of The Purple Van
Just how far can you go when designing a resort pool before it becomes a water park? How many features can you add before you in effect create another theme park?
The fantastic pool shared by Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort and Villas--called Stormalong Bay--seems to be right at the edge of both of those questions. In fact, I feel a bit silly even calling it a pool.
And this picture really does very little justice to the magnitude and scope of Stormalong Bay. You can see that the pool has lots of sand!?! This is the kiddie area and the sand the kids are playing in is supposed to be in the shape of the Florida peninsula.
I think it would take an aerial view to really show all of Stormalong Bay's tricks. All I can say is that if you ever have the opportunity to go there, jump on it.
Sadly, you'll have to be staying at either Beach or Yacht as the pool is sooo popular that employees check for room keys before letting you in. You'll notice that this pic was taken at a bit of a distance....sometimes when delivering Lockers, I'll stroll between the two resorts, like I did this morning, and am constantly amazed at the scale and features of Stormalong Bay.
